Cries in Norwegian
Yesterday all the counselors and members of support staff had a night off, and we visited a real American pub!
For this purpose we hired a van for fifteen persons. The destination was a pub in Plymouth named "Phop" (Plymouth House of Pizza). There were people only from Russia, Poland and Czech Republic in our van. We talked while goig there and found out that these three languages have many similar words ^^
I can say that my impressions of the pub are the worst! First we had to give 2$ as an entrance fee, while people who have already come of age (in the USA it is 21 years old) paid 1$. Then the boy who checked passports and ages drew on our hands crosses with a black marker. Grrr!.. >..< That meant that we were not permitted to buy alcoholic beverages. I do not drink alcohol, but my Russian colleagues were being totally sober!
By 11 o'clock there had been already a crowd in the pub. If at first we could dance where we wanted, and had enough space for it, very soon the dance floor was filled up with people! It remained me of the dance floor in the cafe of "Arktica", where a lot of people were dancing in front of the screen with j-rock clips. But there were much more people in the pub! So that we were very close to each other. The music was dull. It was a kind of hip-hop, so we had to move monotonously and pretend that we were dancing.
The only good moment: we met a company of Russian girls there! (fuf... It seems that I become a real patriot of my native country!..) They also work in a camp as a support staff! We were very surprised to find Russian girls in an American place! It proves that the world is tight! ( Or how is it in English?!)
Very soon we got tired of such an atmosphere. We decided to go for a walk and to see what Plymouth is. We saw. And we got impressed. There is nothing except bikes and low houses. I even took a photo of me leaning against a bike ^^ Besides all the shops were already closed. We spent the rest of the time in the van, waiting for the others of our company.
And today is very-very windy. It was almost a storm tonight. I was sleeping under two blankets, and I managed to get cold.
